Parallel Session: Similarities and differences with how claimant and defendant lawyers work with experts

The duty of every expert is to the court and not the paying party, but how do lawyers approach a dispute, including working with experts, and does this depend on whether they are representing the claimant or defendant?
To clarify matters we have two leading lawyers, who represent opposing sides in medico-legal disputes, giving the Medico-Legal Parallel session at this year's Bond Solon Expert Witness Conference, on Friday 3 November 2023.
Dr Jock Mackenzie, Partner at Anthony Gold and medical doctor, will discuss how he approaches legal disputes from a claimant perspective and Mark Burton, Partner at Kennedys, will do the same from the defendant’s side. They will also explore what factors they consider important when selecting an expert, as well as the similarities and differences with how they work with expert witnesses.
