Since 1986 I have acted as a Technical Consultant with my own company, NFTS Ltd., located in Bath, specializing in cranes and high integrity lifting equipment.
With over 40 years of experience, I am able to investigate crane incidents and act as an independent expert witness for the court. Refer to my CV for details of the cases I have been involved with.
My assignments have required the resolution of a wide variety of challenges in industries such as Offshore, Marine, Nuclear Power, Defence and Construction; covering cranes from 6t to1200t capacity such as mobile, tower, overhead, goliath, crawler, offshore pedestal, as well as ship to shore gantry cranes for handling containers and bulk goods for Ports and Docks.
I am able to perform thorough examinations and condition evaluations of cranes, life extension assessments, LOLER audits, rigging and feasibility studies, design verifications, specifications, independent technical assessments, calculations and evaluate tenders for the procurement of lifting equipment and capital plant.
