John leads the Forensic Technology unit at S & W LLP. He specialises in forensic computer investigations, including e-Disclosure, litigation support, fraud and money laundering investigations, intellectual property theft, and systems misuse.
John is experienced in providing litigation lawyers with a well-managed e-Disclosure service, which tackles excessive data volumes and meets budget requirements and tight time frames. He has carried out sensitive and cross border investigations, acted as an independent expert and also provided complex forensic computing evidence to the Magistrates, Crown and High Courts.
John has experience in both law enforcement and the private sector, initially working in computer forensics whilst he was a Detective in the Cheshire Constabulary’s Fraud Unit before moving to a major information management company and then a Big 4 accountancy firm.
John has acted as an independent expert and also provided complex forensic computing evidence to the High Court.
Has conducted numerous large scale e-disclosure exercises, including:
• In response to a Section 26 notice issued by the Office of Fair Trading for an international household goods supplier.
• On behalf of an international corporation involving many hundreds of thousands of documents.
• A response to a potential Health and Safety Executive investigation following a serious incident within an international energy supplier.
