Dr Jonathan Moss

Dr Jonathan Moss is an accomplished Radio Design, RF Engineer and Telecoms expert, with a proven track record of successfully delivering quality mobile networks and products. He has expertise at the cutting edge of WiFi, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G telecoms as well as automotive electronics.

Dr Moss has developed and delivered Telecoms training courses in the fields of WiFi, Windows Mobile, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G to a range of customers including British Airways, Blackberry, Ericsson, Huawei, MPirical, O2 Ireland and UK, Telenor and some UK Government departments. His experience also includes: patents, base site diagnostics, and drive testing. He also spent time contracted to Arieso, a mobile network analysis company that uses network parameters to perform geo-positioning of calls for network optimisation purposes.

Dr Moss worked with Manx Telecom and NEC, rolling out and optimising Europe’s first 3G network on the Isle of Man which provided seamless performance at launch in 2001. He was at the cutting edge of 3G development, representing O2 at 3GPP standardisation meetings, bench-testing the first 3G handsets and base stations and evaluating performance and spectral efficiency in multipath environments.

Expert Witness experience includes: Retained by Unwired Planet and EIP in 4G Telecoms Litigation Case, London (Oct 2014 - Dec 2015). Dr Moss wrote reports explaining the benefits of the patent and differences to the cited prior art. During the trial, he gave oral evidence over three consecutive days, explaining detailed technical information to a non-technical audience, and received positive feedback from Mr Justice Birss QC.
