Dr Kapadia is a consultant psychiatrist specialising in the psychiatric sequelae of medical negligence and complex personal injury.
He has experience providing psychiatric condition and prognosis reports in a range of medical negligence cases including sepsis and amputation; misdiagnosis; delayed diagnosis; ophthalmology; obstetrics and gynaecology; cauda equina; and dental negligence.
As a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist working within the NHS and for the Priory Group, he has a particular interest and specialism in the psychiatric sequelae of obstetric negligence. He has extensive clinical experience assessing and treating women during pregnancy and the postpartum period and regularly provides expert psychiatric opinion in a range of obstetric medicolegal cases, including maternal birth injury; birth trauma; wrongful birth; mismanagement of labour; stillbirth; and secondary victim trauma for birthing partners.
He has further experience commenting on high profile and sensitive cases including racial abuse and discrimination.
Dr Kapadia also accepts instructions for high value, complex personal injury with particular experience commenting on workplace injury such as crush injuries and traumatic amputations.
Dr Kapadia provides free pre-instruction advice to Claimant and Defendant solicitors and is available to help in the preparation of expert agendas and Part 35 questions.
