MEDICOLEGAL REPORT WRITING
Dr Shakir has been writing medico legal reports since 2000.
He recently attended courses: Excellence in Report writing (Bond Solon, 2019) and Expert Witness Training for Psychiatrists (The Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2019)
Dr Shakir is a Consultant Psychiatrist with significant expertise in management of clients with Learning Disabilities. His Special Interests are Dyslexia, Auditory processing disorder, Visual perceptual/visual motor deficit and many others.
Dr Shakir is a trained psychiatrist and has a master’s in mental health law. Dr Shakir works as a learning disabilities psychiatrist and has expertise and experience of providing evidence in legal proceedings to courts. Dr Shakir has specialist expertise in learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders for medico-legal reports.
He has significant experience of preparing medical and psychiatric reports, having prepared over 1,500 medicolegal and psychiatric reports for legal firms and private organisations. Dr Shakir has also appeared as an Expert Witness, when required by the Court.
Dr Shakir can prepare and provide reports for the full range of General Adult Psychiatry cases, including common conditions such as Schizophrenia, Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He has extensive experience of treating PTSD cases, particularly those relating to Trauma caused by sexual abuse, assault, and road traffic accidents.
