Details

Matthew Reynolds is a Software Engineering Expert working in the field of software engineering and I.T. for over 25 years. Matthew has much hands-on experience of large and complex I.T. projects and combines the building of software systems with the delivery of the most secure cyber security and strong commercial value for his clients and their organizations.

Matthew provides expert witness opinion in software engineering matters and in matters of general I.T. systems failure (for example, the purchased system not being fit for purpose).

He also assists I.T. customers and suppliers navigate their way out of failed and failing I.T. projects, thereby avoiding lengthy and costly proceedings in court.

Technical Project Mediation and ADR: Matthew has worked on projects where an I. T. System has been delivered and is not working, or if an I.T. system is being implemented but is on a “death march”, i.e. there is little chance that the system can be made to work correctly. Even when a project can be made to function, it can still be very difficult to get both sides working together again as the trust will almost certainly have completely broken down. It can also be the case that the supplier (or the customer) cannot see certain issues with the project itself because they have been mired for so long. This type of dispute can only be resolved by bringing in a highly technical independent expert whose remit is to get the project to sign-off and keep the parties out of court.

Matthew wrote his first book, “Beginning E-commerce” for Wrox Press in 2000. This went on to become the 3rd best selling book on e-commerce on Amazon at the time. He has also authored and co-authored around a dozen books for Wrox Press on Microsoft .NET, which was a new technology at the time. Other books include “Death of the PC”. The last book co-authored was called “Social Selling” – a business book on how SMEs businesses can use social media marketing to sell.

He was also a columnist for The Guardian, covering the burgeoning ‘smartphone’ industry that would of course go on to dominate the consumer and business I.T. markets until the present day.
