Education and Qualifications
MRCOG, MBBS, BSc

I completed my undergraduate training in London in 2006. I strengthened my specialty skills in obstetrics and gynaecology through training in the East of England region, during which time I became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I enhanced my experience in maternal medicine, advanced labour ward practice and medical education by achieving the advanced Royal College modules (ATSMs) in these areas of special interest. This included two years being trained by experts (Addenbrooke’s Hospital,Cambridge).

Being awarded the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate (Civil Law) (in 2022) has prepared me for writing structured reports and to be cross-examined in a courtroom.

Current Employment

In 2018, I was appointed as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. My current practice involves leading a specialised maternal medicine clinic every week. I especially cater for pregnant mothers with complex cardiac conditions, along with liver and kidney problems.

I am responsible for the acute activity on the labour ward for my trust for over 870 hours per year. My NHS trust has 5000 deliveries per year. I do or directly supervise at least five obstetrician led deliveries, mainly in the form of C-sections, per week. To support my clinical work, I also maintain memberships with the Medical Protection Society, the British Medical Association, the British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society and the MacDonald Obstetric Medicine Society

During my tenure as obstetric lead for my NHS trust (2018 – 2022), I performed root cause analyses following serious incidents for both my NHS trusts and neighbouring trusts. This developed my attention to detail. Now, as an accredited expert witness, my current ratio of claimant to defendant instructions is approximately 40 :60.

Additional Skills and Experience

Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge was the first in the UK to utilise Epic’s eHospital system. I trained there before and after the introduction of eHospital and became more versatile in reviewing medical records using advanced digital technology.
