Dr Sandesha Kothari is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and at Medway NHS Foundation trust.
She is also the Regional Advisor for Pain Medicine Training, by appointment, by the Faculty of Pain Medicine, since 2016 with term renewed in 2019. Since 2008, she is a member of the London, Kent Surrey and Sussex Pain Training Advisory Group.
Dr Kothari has been providing expert medico-legal reports to the court for over 10 years, and has been instructed by the claimant, defendant representatives and as a single joint expert. She also has experience in conferring with other experts and preparing joint statements. Dr Kothari has compiled approximately 100 reports in the last two years.

CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in Anaesthetics with a special interest in Chronic Pain Medicine in 2005. 5 years training in the South-Eastern School of Anaesthesia with a special interest in Pain Medicine in the final year of her training at St Thomas’ hospital, London.
Dr Kothari received training in providing CPR compliant medical reports in 2009 and completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate in 2014. This included training in Excellence in Report Writing, Civil Law and Procedure Rules and Witness familiarisation and Court Room Skills and Cross Examination.
