Mr Ross Elledge is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer based in Birmingham with private clinics spanning Birmingham, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield.
He graduated in dentistry with distinction at the University of Malta in 2003, finishing first in his year. Following a few years working for the state health service in Malta, he relocated to the United Kingdom in 2005, initially working in paediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Following junior posts in Maxillofacial Surgery in the West of Scotland, Mr Elledge completed the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006. In 2007, he started an accelerated medical degree at the University of Birmingham, completing this in 2010 with distinction. He completed the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons exams in 2012 and, gained a Masters in Medical Education with distinction from the acclaimed programme at the Centre for Medical Education, University of Dundee.
His NHS practice is based at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, working between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and Solihull Hospital, Solihull where his practice encompasses a broad scope of activity within the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Mr Elledge has subspecialty interests in the management of skin cancer and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. He is a member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team (LSMDT) at Solihull Hospital and has a clear margin rate of 99% for non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). His TMJ practice encompasses alloplastic joint replacement and arthroscopy, the latter being delivered via an honorary contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Mr Elledge's private practice is based at Ramsay Health The Westbourne Centre in Edgbaston, Circle Health The Priory Hospital in Edgbaston, The Harborne Hopsital part of HCA Healthcare UK in Edgbaston, and Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull.
Mr Elledge regularly prepares expert witness reports for clinical negligence cases in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on areas including dentoalveolar (e.g. third molar) surgery and associated nerve injuries, benign salivary gland pathology, temporomandibular disorders, maxillofacial trauma and non-melanoma skin cancer. He can also be instructed on personal injury cases including facial fractures and soft tissue injuries.
He prepares thorough court compliant Condition & Prognosis and Liability & Causation reports, but can also prepare "screening" reports with written advice on liability at the outset to determine the merits of a case. He is willing to defer fees until the conclusion of the case in most instances.
