Dr Thomas Miller is a Consultant Neurologist, he undertook training at the University of Edinburgh where he completed an intercalated honours year in Neuroscience. His general medical training took place in the South East Deanery of Scotland after which he completed working as research fellow with the National Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Research and Surveillance Unit at the University of Edinburgh.

In 2012, Dr Miller started his doctoral research as part of an Association of British Neurologists Clinical Research Training Fellowship at the University of Oxford in the cognitive and neuroradiological (at 7.0-Tesla) sequelae of LGI1-limbic encephalitis. His neurology training was completed at the Royal Free Hospital and National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. He became a Consultant Neurologist in 2020 and spent time working at Lister Hospital, Stevenage, and the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough Common (part of King’s College Hospital NHS Trust).  

Dr Miller is currently a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Career Development Fellow based at the Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, and an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. He assists in running an autoimmune encephalitis clinic alongside a general neurology clinic and co-chair the weekly UCL Queen Square National Hospital encephalitis meeting.

Dr Miller is widely published and is involved in research projects.
