Neil qualified as a Professional Associate of “ISVA” in 1991; having received the Society’s Robert Clay Prize for outstanding academic achievement in their Building Construction examinations and became a Fellow in 1993. He was National Chairman of the Young Valuers and Auctioneers division in 1997/8 and previously served as a Member of their National Council, Professional Practice, Building/Valuation and Policy Committees.
Neil started his career at Congreve Horner & Co, a firm of Chartered Surveyors in their Property Management department, assisting one of the Partners in the administration of, as well as sale of and investment in residential premises.
Thereafter, he became a Building Surveying Assistant to a Chartered Surveyor in Richmond, Surrey, responsible for advice on development and refurbishment of land & buildings within the management portfolio of a large charity. Subsequently, Neil joined a National Charity as Assistant Regional Surveyor, having responsibility for acquisition and sale of residential, commercial and “hospital” premises as well as development, refurbishment and management of existing property of the Charity within the South of England. Neil is also a Valuer Member of the “FTT” (Southern & Eastern Panels; having previously been appointed to the London panel) until 31st December 2016.
Neil continues to provide property management and general practice surveying services to the public and property professionals alike. He has experience in presenting evidence at the First Tier Tribunal Residential Property Chamber (“FTT”) and County Courts formatters concerning building surveying, valuation and property management. He has previously been appointed by the “FTT” and am currently appointed by them in applications made for the appointment of a manager under the provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1987 & 1985 (as amended).
