James Oxendale studied at the University of York and received a Masters in Music with distinction in 2015. He has since undertaken further studies in music theory, having become an Associate of Trinity College London and having been awarded a Diploma from the London College of Music (part of the University of West London). He has also studied and is an accomplished pianist, electric guitarist, classical guitarist and music analyst.
He is a fully trained consultant and forensic musicologist who undertakes research and provides assistance with regard to numerous music copyright and related matters, including preparing musical transcriptions, making musical and lyrical comparisons, undertaking waveform analyses, providing audio A/B comparisons as well as “prior art” research.
He has assisted in over 3,500 cases, involving various aspects of copyright and copyright-related matters.
