Jason Coyne is an IT and digital forensics consultant with 34 years of experience in technology disputes, digital evidence, and IP matters.

Jason has testified in various courts, including the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) and High Courts, and is known for explaining complex technical systems simply. Recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a Global Leader in Data, E-Discovery and Digital Forensics investigations.

He has served as a Technology Expert Witness in many high-profile litigations involving delayed or failed projects. He has worked with top law firms and insurers on large technical projects across the UK, South Africa, India, the Middle East, and Asia.

Jason has prepared numerous Expert Witness reports on the actions of individuals within technology suppliers, users, financial institutions, law firms, social media companies, and governmental organisations.

He frequently addresses eDiscovery disputes and is experienced in digital forensic examinations of evidence on various media, including microprocessors, computer hard drives, mobile phones, business databases, and cloud technologies.

Jason was the Technical Expert instructed by Mr Alan Bates in the 2019 case, Bates v Post Office, the Horizon Trail and was the technical expert preferred by Fraser J after four days of cross examination.
