Dr. Kyle Gilmour

Dr Kyle Gilmour is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with over 28 years experience as a medical practitioner. With over 18 years experience as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

He has a special interest in emergency gynaecology care, laparoscopic and major gynaecological surgery and gynaecological cancer care. He is currently the lead clinician for Gynaecological cancer and colposcopy. Also an appraiser for Consultant Medical Staff at the Trust, with experience in carrying out internal investigations of Clinical incidents at the Trust and is an Educational Supervisor for senior doctors in training. With previous experience as the Clinical Director for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Division and during this time was the Obstetric and Gynaecological Governance Lead.

Dr Gilmour has undertaken medicolegal reports for the last 10 years and commenced clinical negligence reports 7 years ago. In the last 12 months he has completed 46 reports. He has experience of completing single joint expert statements with the other party. I have attended court trial on one occasion in the last 10 years. His ratio of work is: Claimant 65% / Defendant 30% / Joint 5%. He has undertaken extensive expert witness training.

Dr Gilmour undertakes:
Clinical Negligence cases including “liability & causation report”, “condition and prognosis report” and “pathfinder/desktop reports on potential cases”.
Personal Injury cases related to Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Turn-around times are short. Appointment (if required) offered within 10 working days of receiving ‘letter of instruction’. Reports returned within 4 weeks of receiving letter of instruction, all necessary medical records and necessary documents.

Examination appointments, if required, are held in the pleasant surroundings of a private healthcare consulting suite which is conveniently located less than 10 minutes from the M60 motorway system around Greater Manchester.

Dr Gilmour can also offer video consultations for remote examinations in some cases without the need of the client to travel in person.
