Dr Gregor McNeill is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
He was first appointed as a Consultant in 2012. His experience includes management of adult inpatients with a wide variety of critical illness with experience of advanced extracorporeal techniques for both respiratory and cardiac support. He was National Clinical Lead for Patient Deterioration within NHS Scotland until 2023. He chaired the recent Scottish Guideline Network (SIGN) Guidance Update on Patient Deterioration.
His expertise is in Intensive Care Medicine and Acute Medicine with special interest in:
• Adult Patient Deterioration in an inpatient setting
• Adult Sepsis
• Intensive Care Medicine
• Cardiac Arrest
Dr McNeill has undertaken specialist expert witness training, he commenced his expert witness practice in August 2023. Since then he has undertaken a number of cases, predominantly relating to the identification and management of Sepsis.
