Details

Guy Morris is an orthopaedic surgeon whose expertise is in the treatment of bone and soft tissue cancer (sarcoma), metastatic bone cancer and in performing both complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements for arthritis.

He is the former Clinical Director for the Oncology unit at the world renowned Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham – the largest bone sarcoma unit in Europe. He completed an undergraduate degree in Sports Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention before graduating in Medicine from the University of Leicester in 2007. He undertook his higher surgical training in the West Midlands on the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Program and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2017. He then gained further experience in the specialist field of oncology and arthroplasty during his fellowship in Sydney at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital; the largest sarcoma unit In Australia. 

He has authored a number of papers in international journals in the fields of oncology and arthroplasty. A reviewer of scientific papers and textbooks and an honorary clinical lecturer at Birmingham University, he has maintained an active interest in teaching. He lectures internationally on the management of bone cancer and complex/revision arthroplasty. In 2022 he convened the first UK Sarcoma Allograft Conference. He is actively involved in research projects with a particular interest in navigated tumour resection, 3D printed jig tumour resection and chondrosarcoma treatment. He has published multiple papers in leading clinical journals in the fields of oncology and arthroplasty. In January 2024 he convened the world's first orthopaedic oncology consensus meeting (The BOOM meeting) - a global event to obtain consensus on the managament of chondrosarcoma and infected tumour prostheses. 

He works in the West Midlands but is availble nationally on request. He undertakes reports for personal injury or negligence cases for claimants and defendants alike.
