Mr Sumith Perera is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Cataract & Refractive Surgeon based in Oxford. He has over 30 years clinical experience in Ophthalmology and over 20 years’ experience in preparing medico-legal expert witness reports.
Mr Perera has an excellent knowledge of Ophthalmology and is one of the most experienced cataract and refractive surgeons in the country. Having performed more than 24,000 cataract and refractive procedures. He is highly skilled in using refractive lasers and is a UK pioneer in femtosecond lasers for cataract and refractive surgery. He was the Clinical lead for Eye Casualty services for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust for more than 8 yeas and has extensive experience managing a wide range of eye conditions and complications of surgical procedures.
