During his tenure as an expert witness, Professor Papalois has offered medical advice to over 250+ cases in the clinical negligence field. His main areas of medico-legal expertise are Transplantation, Dialysis Access Surgery and General Surgical Complications.

As a freelance expert witness, Professor Papalois regularly receives requests to offer his medical opinion in clinical negligence cases from firms such as The Medical Legal Practice (TMLEP), Irwin Mitchell, Thompsons Solicitors, Kennedys Solicitors and Capsticks Solicitors. He has provided expert advice to the legal teams of both claimants and defendants in professional negligence proceedings-including condition and prognosis reports.

Alongside his written expert evidence, Professor Papalois has also provided oral evidence and testimony in Court.

Professor Papalois can be contacted to provide medical expert advice through his e-mail address. Professor Papalois carefully examines all relevant documents submitted by the instructing party to form his expert opinion on the clinical negligence matter. This expert opinion is further informed through published evidence and one-on-one interviews with either the defendant or claimant parties. These interviews can be conducted in person or through a video call.

From the date of his instruction as a medico-legal expert, Professor Papalois will typically require around 2 weeks to produce a final expert report outlining his professional opinion on the case in which he’s been asked to appraise.
