Mr Anthony Gough is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, Taunton with a Private Practice at the Somerset Hand Clinic in Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital. His practice covers musculoskeletal and nerve problems relating to the hand, wrist and elbow.
After completing his orthopaedic training in the South West, Mr Gough undertook two fellowships in Hand Surgery. The first, an Advanced Interface Fellowship at the University of Birmingham Hospitals and the second at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. His postgraduate qualifications include the British Diploma in Hand Surgery, a fellowship in Medical Leadership and a Master's degree in Sports Medicine, combining his passion for sport with a professional interest in sports injuries.
Mr Gough has expertise in all aspects of hand and wrist surgery. As a dual fellowship trained hand and wrist surgeon, he treats all conditions affecting the hand and wrist, up to the elbow.

Carpal tunnel syndrome
Cubital tunnel syndrome
Surgery for arthritis including joint replacements
Dupuytren's contracture procedures (fasciectomy, skin grafts and needle fasciotomies)
All facets of tertiary hand trauma and elective surgery.
Complex hand and wrist trauma including complex distal radius fixation.
Mr Gough has authored publications relevant to his current practice. He has presented work at international and national conferences, being a finalist for the Young Investigator’s Award at the British Orthopaedic Association Conference in 2017.
