Details

Mr Michael Wilson is an experienced Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon who provides expert evidence in criminal and civil proceedings.

Mr Wilson is a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon at Forth Valley Royal Hospital as the Clinical Lead for General Surgery and Major Trauma. In addition, he is also visiting Major Trauma Surgeon at St Mary’s Hospital, London.  

Mr Wilson graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Anatomy at Glasgow University, completed undergraduate training at Glasgow University and Higher Surgical training in the East of Scotland deanery at Ninewells hospital, Dundee. He completed a Major Trauma and Acute Care Surgery fellowship at St. Mary’s Hospital Major Trauma Centre, London. He commenced employment as a substantive consultant surgeon at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in 2019.

He works primarily for NHS Forth Valley providing elective and emergency general surgery care to his patients. His main subspecialty interest is benign upper GI surgery but with further subspecialty interests in emergency ‘hot’ gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, hiatal surgery, hernia surgery and all aspects of emergency general surgery. He leads the complex hernia regional MDT and offers botox to patients prior to complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
